First and foremost, DoorBell excels at its primary mission: welcoming guests without making them wait. As soon as someone rings the doorbell, Ajax users receive a notification, see who's at the door, and can chat directly through the Ajax app. There's no lag or interruption – Ajax's proprietary technology ensures a clear and seamless exchange from both sides.
When no one is present, DoorBell functions as a vigilant security camera. It can detect people, animals, or vehicles nearby, recording continuously¹ or triggering recording upon object detection, and sending event notifications to the user and security company – even without Wi-Fi². DoorBell's high-quality camera delivers crisp images and videos, ensuring effective monitoring in any situation.

Equipped with a 4MP CMOS sensor, the DoorBell camera delivers sharp and detailed images. A 90° vertical and 155° horizontal viewing angle ensures coverage of the entire entrance area.
The images are clear and highly detailed, allowing for the identification of everything from faces to license plates. HDR technology eliminates glare and deep shadows, ensuring consistent image quality even in challenging lighting conditions. Additionally, infrared (IR) technology enables the camera to detect objects at distances up to 6 meters, even in complete darkness.

Ajax's proprietary JetSparrow video protocol ensures fast, direct peer-to-peer content transmission to Ajax applications with minimal latency. At the same time, this mechanism provides absolute privacy protection, as no third party interferes with the data transmission process.
Object recognition using AI
DoorBell integrates artificial intelligence (AI) to recognize people, animals, and vehicles. Users can receive notifications when objects are detected and filter videos based on this data. For example, a homeowner near a busy road can choose to only receive notifications when someone approaches their door, rather than when vehicles pass by.
DoorBell's AI is continuously improved through over-the-air (OTA) updates, ensuring users always experience the latest features without requiring additional maintenance.

Because AI recognition is based on image data, DoorBell is equipped with an additional sensor system to enhance accuracy and minimize false alarms. Just below the DoorBell camera is a sophisticated passive infrared (PIR) sensor capable of detecting motion within a range of up to 4 meters, even in rain or fog – conditions when image recognition is less effective.
The silicon filter helps prevent false alarms caused by strong sunlight or car headlights. Additionally, users can customize the motion detection zone via the Ajax app, minimizing unwanted notifications.
Clear two-way audio at both ends.
With Ajax DoorBell, users can chat with guests from anywhere in the world via the Ajax app. Ajax has optimized audio quality on both hardware and software, ensuring clear conversations – even in noisy outdoor environments. The built-in speaker delivers up to 85 dB of sound, nearly the same as an indoor alarm siren. Simultaneously, continuous noise cancellation and echo cancellation systems make guests' voices clearer, providing a smooth and authentic communication experience.
Doorbell connectivity is elevated: robust Wi-Fi coupled with reliable backup options.
Despite its widespread use, Wi-Fi has one significant drawback: a lack of stability, especially when it's most needed. If a interrupted call can be inconvenient, then delays in a doorbell system are unacceptable. In the security field, there's no room for error – from delays in live video, slow notifications, or worse, complete loss of connection during intrusions. Furthermore, Wi-Fi can be exploited by malicious actors to jam the network.
That's why DoorBell is designed for robust connectivity. Its advanced wireless architecture minimizes interference, ensuring a stable signal up to 30 meters through concrete walls – enough to function smoothly in a large villa. This also simplifies installation, as there's no need to place a router right at the entrance.
However, Ajax devices are not entirely dependent on Wi-Fi – a technology that is inherently vulnerable to attacks. Even if Wi-Fi fails, DoorBell continues to monitor the entrance area. When connected to the Ajax control center, DoorBell can operate via a backup communication channel. The device uses the Jeweller protocol to transmit events and alarms, while the Wings protocol ensures that image data is sent to the Ajax application. Both of these proprietary protocols have mechanisms for detecting and jamming, along with automatic frequency switching technology to enhance security.

DoorBell still offers essential features even when operating independently, including instant notifications when someone rings the doorbell, object recognition, live video streaming, and two-way chat via the Ajax app.
However, when DoorBell is integrated into an Ajax security system, the device will unleash its full potential. When connected to the control center, DoorBell is not only protected from interference and Wi-Fi disconnections but also ensures that all important alerts and image verification are sent to both the user and the monitoring center.
For projects requiring video storage, Ajax offers two solutions: NVR and Ajax Cloud Storage³. The NVR system supports storage up to 16 TB, while Ajax Cloud Storage allows for precise recording of each detected object. Both options ensure fast, smooth data retrieval with absolute security.
Absolute data security
Traditional doorbells – because they are easily accessible and susceptible to tampering – are very easy to counterfeit. Intruders can easily remove the device and steal the SD card containing all the video content. However, this is not the case with Ajax DoorBell, developed with a focus on transparency and privacy, key features that Ajax video devices possess. DoorBell is equipped with a tamper detection mechanism, immediately sending alerts to users and surveillance companies if unauthorized removal of the device occurs. In addition, the device records photos or videos of the intruder, making identification easier.
Even if the device is dismantled, stealing video recordings is impossible — DoorBell has no internal memory for this reason. Instead, recordings are securely stored on the NVR system or in Ajax Cloud Storage. Unless a storage option is used, only authorized users have access to the live video.
Furthermore, DoorBell fully complies with the stringent privacy standards established for Ajax video devices, including NDAA requirements.

Designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions, DoorBell operates reliably within a temperature range of -25°C to +60°C. Its IP54 rating ensures reliable operation in humid environments and polluted urban areas. The integrated backup battery provides up to two hours of independent operation and maintains stable performance in cold conditions thanks to its self-warming feature.
Installation is incredibly simple thanks to the complete accessory kit, included SmartBracket mounting plate, and QR code scanning feature. Additional tilting brackets offer more options for optimal device installation. The entire configuration process is as easy as with other Ajax devices: just use the Ajax mobile app and it takes a few minutes of a technician's time.
DoorBell notifies users of visitors via the Ajax app and an on-site audio signal. To activate the audio alert, the device can connect to an existing wire doorbell via the BellKit bypass kit. Additionally, if the security system has a siren, it can announce the arrival of visitors via the Chime feature.
