Ajax Systems has just released a firmware update for the Jeweller TouchScreen KeyPad, bringing several improved features to help users manage home automation more easily. With this new firmware version, users can view and change the status of automation devices directly on the keypad's screen. The display interface is synchronized with the Ajax app, allowing anyone at the facility to check the device status instantly.
In addition to home automation control capabilities, the firmware update also improves system status display and enhances interaction with Ajax smoke detectors and emergency buttons.
What's new on the Jeweller TouchScreen KeyPad?
With firmware version xx.xx.10.xxx and above, the Jeweller TouchScreen KeyPad gains the following features:
- An on/off switch to control one or more home automation devices.
- Online/offline status icons for home automation devices.
- Fire alarm notification
- Synchronize the interface color scheme with the Ajax application.
- Simultaneously displays audio and light signals.
- Easier security controls
These features are available on keyboards connected to compatible hubs running OS Malevich version 2.25 or later and in the latest versions of the Ajax application.
Automation script management
The “Scenarios” tab is now more intuitive with an easy-to-use interface. An on/off switch shows the current status of the home automation scenario. If the scenario contains only one device operating in bistable mode, the device's status will also be displayed on the screen. If the device is offline, this information will also be displayed directly on the screen.
The script's name helps users easily identify and control home automation with a simple operation, mimicking the interface of an Ajax application.
As before, administrators or PRO specialists with access to system settings can create up to six home automation scenarios, which are then displayed on the keypad screen. Additionally, the system supports pre-authentication before executing commands. This feature requires the user to unlock the keypad before changing the state of a scenario or device.
Turn off the fire alarm.
With the new firmware update, the fire alarm display has also been improved. If the fire alarm mute function is enabled in the Ajax application, users can view the type of fire alarm and mute it directly from the keypad.
This function is particularly useful if the incident has been brought under control or the alarm was triggered by mistake. Mute helps avoid panic or disruption to daily operations without having to disable the entire system.
The updated screens display more detailed information about the type of fire alarm, including:
🔥 Dangerous CO levels
🔥 Dangerous smoke levels
🔥 Fire alarm (when high CO levels are detected or the emergency button is activated)
To mute the alarm, simply press “Mute Alarm” on the Jeweller TouchScreen KeyPad. However, the hazardous CO level and hazardous smoke level alarms cannot be muted.
If the fire alarm is triggered by a ManualCallPoint Jeweller, the user cannot deactivate it from the keypad but must use a special tool (key) designed for the ManualCallPoint Jeweller.
Display the status more visually.
The Jeweller TouchScreen KeyPad now displays system status more clearly and easily:
🔴 Red: The system is in protection mode (with or without external power), warning of restricted access.
🟢 Green: The system has turned off protection mode, allowing free movement within the area.
This color scheme is consistent with Ajax applications, allowing users to quickly identify the system status.
Additionally, the LEDs on the keyboard will flash red if a delay is triggered during input/output. This is very helpful for the hearing impaired or in noisy environments, helping to avoid missing important alerts.
Easier security management
The new firmware update allows for more flexible security system management, complying with the ANSI/SIA CP-01-2019 standard.
📌 Faster security shutdown: If the “No-Button Solution” feature is enabled, users do not need to press the “Solution” button on the keypad after entering a PIN or using the access device.
📌 Automatic Protection Deactivation: If a delay is triggered, upon entering a PIN or using an access device at the main entrance, the system will automatically deactivate protection for the selected group or the entire facility. This helps avoid false alarms and improves the user experience.
How to update the firmware for Jeweller TouchScreen KeyPad
To experience the new features, update the KeyPad TouchScreen Jeweller firmware. Administrators or PRO specialists can perform the update within the Ajax PRO and PRO Desktop applications.
🔹 Step 1: Connect the keyboard to an external power source.
🔹 Step 2: Run the update via the app.
🔹 Step 3: The download and update process takes approximately 1 hour. During this time, users cannot change the protection mode via the keyboard.
